Brian- Brian always invites me on family vacations!
Conrad- He lets me play at his house instead of going to my dad's shop everyday!
Brain is a really good friend of mine, not only does he invite
me out of all of his friends on family trips, but he
invites me over to play at his house a lot! Two times he has brought me to the
Sierra Nevadas where his family has a cabin about a five minute walk from
Huntington Lake. I am going to tell you what we did on the first one, and a little of the second.
After the seven hour drive we stretched our legs, unpacked and
went to bed. That was Thursday. On Friday the real fun started.
We woke up and had a wonderful breakfast (as we did everyday).
Then they said we were going down to the dock and Brian
and I rode our bikes while his parents and aunt carried
everything down there. I was amazed with what I saw! A lake,
an island, paddleboats, a rent a boat shack, and everything
else that can be at a lake. First, after setting up we went
riding around on our bikes for a while (until lunch).
Then after eating we went fishing until about three.
Then we headed up to the cabin to find our neighbor (at the lake)
named George. All he wanted to do was to play tag. After
getting annoyed with him asking us, we gave in a played.
For dinner we had Brian's choice of meal, hamburgers, and then
we roasted marshmallows and went to bed.
On Saturday we did mostly the same thing, but instead of going to the dock, we rode our bikes to the dam about a mile away with his mom and dog, Sierra (who walked). When we all got there we went to the spot where Sierra learned to swim.
On Sunday I learned how to shoot an arrow, and we played a game where we had to hit certain spots in a certain amount of tries. We also went paddleboating out to the island and back.
On Monday we went on a two hour hike to a waterfall, where we had lunch.
On Wednesday we rented a party boat and went for a couple of spins around the lake.
And I got to drive some of the way!!
We also saw a sailboat race!!
After all the fun of a week at a cabin we had a seven hour drive back home and I just plopped down on my bed and went to sleep.
On this trip Brian's cousin came up from Texas and
stayed at the cabin for a while.
Of course with and
extra person, that meant that we could get the dishes
done faster that any of the grown ups.
But it also meant that more people for poker or blackjack!!
An extra person is better for sweetalking people into letting
you go innertubing!!
